The Saskatoon Sexual Assault & Information Centre provides direct services to approximately 600 new clients annually. From April 2005 to March 2006, we served 537 new clients.
This number reflects all forms of sexual violence including child sexual abuse, adult sexual assault, incest and sexual harassment.
SSAIC provided 710 follow-up counselling sessions and telephone contacts with clients, for a total of 1,247 client contacts in this fiscal year.
Types of Abuse:
- 60.1% sexual assault and abuse
- 9.9% incest
- 3.5% domestic violence
- 1.9% sexual harassment
- 24.6% other (sexual exploration, sexual acting out by children,etc.)
Of the 537 new clients in 2005-2006:
- 90.5% were female
- 9.5% were male
Plus:
- 17.3% were children and youth (0-17 years old)
- 82.7% we adults
Who are the Offenders:
Of the above 537 new clients, the offenders were identified as:

- Date / present partner - 14.2%
- Former partner - 4.0%

- Biological parent - 9.2%
- Functional parent - 6.3%
- Sibling - 5.8%
