SURVIVOR SERVICES

  1. The agency provides services to all survivors of sexual abuse and their families, with the following exceptions:
    • children under the age of 16 who have not disclosed to either the Department of Community Resources / Child Protection (Social Services) or the police.
    • abusers or perpetrators of sexual assault.
  2. Fee for services will not be charged to any client, though other agencies to which the client is referred may charge for their services.
  3. When clients from outside our area contact the Centre, every attempt will be made to provide a referral to agencies within their area.
  4. Information which could serve to identify the client or the client's family will not be released to any individual or agency without the client's consent ? with the following exceptions:
    • the Agency will report to the Department of Community Resources (DCR) all suspected abuse cases of children under the age of 16 years, as defined by the Saskatchewan Family Services Act.
    • where the life or safety of the client or other person(s) is threatened, the Agency will notify appropriate agencies. Reports to agencies such as the D.C.R. or the RCMP, etc. will be provided by the Director or her designate.
